Fishing Charters Folly Beach, SC

Folly Beach, SC is surrounded by water and has a ton of fishing opportunities for every type of angler. There is everything from sight fishing with a fly rod to bait fishing with a spinning rod.  Targeting Redfish on the flats during a falling tide and the beginning of the incoming tide can be very productive.  During the late Fall and Winter months, the Redfish will form large schools,  the fish do this mostly to protect themselves from predators such as Bottlenose Dolphins.  This can provide the fly and light tackle angler with great opportunities for sight fishing.  As we pole the boat on the flats, the Redfish can be very visible either slowly feeding or pushing a large wake across the shallow water.  The goal is to present the fly or lure in front of either the lead fish or fish that are on the edges of the school.  Trying to be careful that the fly doesn't land in the middle of the school is very important.  If cast into the school, the fish will typically all spook and be much harder to catch.  This is our favorite type of fishing for Redfish because of the sight fishing opportunities it can provide.  FishWater Outfitters is proud to offer all different types of inshore fishing charters in Folly Beach, SC.

Folly Beach Sight Fishing Charters

Sight fishing for Redfish with a fly rod can be one of the best and most effective ways to catch fish throughout the fall and winter months in the Folly Beach area. Join us for this incredible fishing experience! Fishing in the early morning during a falling tide and the beginning of the incoming tide provides low enough water where the fish can be easily seen and cast to. Our Charleston, SC Captains at FishWater Outfitters are very experienced in fly fishing and use many different types of flies. Some of our favorite flies are ones that mimic shrimp, crabs and baitfish such as mullet. An eight weight fly rod with a floating line will work very well—although if there is minimal wind, a seven weight can be very fun. Typically, as with any other saltwater fishing, there can often be wind. With winds present, a nine weight fly rod can really help an angler make the best cast.
